File View Overview
With the Drive Links component, users can view and edit a file linked to a Salesforce record through a full-screen viewer.
How it works
File View
The Drive Links component supports viewing files that are linked to a record. When accessing the linked file the user will view the file. The document can be directly edited when being viewed if the file is a:
- Google Doc
- Google Slide
- Google Spreadsheet
Users can access the following features from the viewed file:
- Download File
- Save to Salesforce
- Send File
- View in Google Drive
- Copy Drive Url
- Rename File
- Unlink File
Architecture
The (1) Drive Links component allows users to view a Drive file through an iframe embedding its Content URL, which is the saved URL to the (2) Drive file. If the file is a Google Doc, Sheet, or Presentation and the current user has edit access, it can also be edited through the iframe.
